We stand behind our workmanship. If something we installed or repaired fails due to our labor during the guarantee period, we’ll make it right—by repair, re-do, or a fair refund of the labor portion, at our discretion.

What’s Covered

Workmanship (Labor)

Defects caused by our labor on handyman-scale projects completed at the service address below.

  • Interior/Exterior Painting (labor): 12-month workmanship coverage
  • Drywall patch & repair (labor): 12-month workmanship coverage
  • Minor carpentry/trim/doors (labor): 12-month workmanship coverage
  • Fixture & appliance installs (labor): 6-month workmanship coverage

Material and manufacturer warranties are separate and pass through directly to you.

Reasonable Remedies

After inspection, we choose the most practical remedy for you and the site conditions:

  • Repair the affected area
  • Re-do the affected scope
  • Refund all or part of the labor cost for the affected scope

We don’t promise a specific remedy; we promise a fair resolution.

What’s Not Covered

Common Exclusions

  • Pre-existing or hidden conditions, code issues, improper prior work
  • Manufacturer defects, product recalls, normal wear and tear, maintenance neglect
  • Moisture intrusion, leaks, flooding, humidity swings, condensation
  • Structural movement, foundation settlement, vibration, impact, abuse, misuse
  • Customer-supplied materials that fail or are incompatible
  • Cosmetic variation within normal standards (e.g., texture/wood grain variances)

Eligibility Requirements

  • Invoice paid in full; account current
  • Original customer at the original service address (non-transferable)
  • No subsequent alterations by others to the affected area
  • Normal use and required homeowner maintenance performed

How to Request Service

Step 1 — Contact Us

Step 2 — Share Details

  • Your name, service address, and original job date
  • Brief description of the issue and when it started
  • 2–3 photos of the affected area (if possible)

Step 3 — Site Review & Resolution

  • We schedule a visit to inspect
  • We confirm eligibility and select repair, re-do, or labor refund for the affected scope
  • We complete the remedy within a reasonable timeframe

Notify us promptly after discovery. For workmanship items, please contact us within 30 days of noticing the issue and within the applicable coverage window above.

Materials & Manufacturer Warranties

Any product or material warranty is provided by the manufacturer. We’ll assist with documentation as needed. If a product fails, we can reinstall replacement product at our normal labor rates unless covered otherwise.

Limits & Legal

  • Limit of liability: capped at the amount you paid Job Smasher for the specific defective scope.
  • No incidental/consequential damages: e.g., missed time, alternative housing, etc.
  • Governing law: State of Indiana.
  • Scope: handyman-scale projects; larger renovations may be governed by a separate agreement.
